Ng Family Vacation

DoerrNg ClanThe Ng family spent an enjoyable vacation at Table Rock Lake in southern Missouri with the Doerr clan. Vacationeers included: Bill Doerr and Dee Lang; Bill and Connie Doerr; Dale, Angie, Katie, Meghan, and Alison Doerr; Rick and Mary Doerr; Little Rick, Cathy, and Marlyn Doerr; Sandy and Tom Delahanty; Kevin, Joyce, Ryan, and Christy George; and Sammy, Dela, Stephen, and Jason Ng.

CondosAccommodations were great. Thanks to Angie who arranged everything. Each condo had two bedrooms, kitchen, dinning and living combination; two bathrooms; and a balcony. There was even a pull down in the living room. Everything was spic and span. The kitchen had a microwave, toaster, refrigrator, drip coffee pot, and dish washer.

We all had a lot of fun. We went water skiing, swimming, boat riding, pontoon boat riding, and fishing. For those of us who wanted to relax from the water, there were two large outmalls to investigate. Top of the Rock RestaurantAs far as meals, we ate breakfast and lunch in the condos and splurge for dinner. The best dinner out was at the Top of the Rock restaurant which overlooked Table Rock Lake. What a view! The restaurant was beautifully designed with large stain glass windows of birds and a marvelous outdoor garden.

A good time was had by all!!

Preview a clip of Mount Rainier which is one of the sites to see outside of Seattle to view one of the wonders that await you on next summer's family vacation trip.

U.S. Naval Academy Visit

U.S. Naval Academy

Sammy, Dela, and Jason visited the U.S. Naval Academy in September 2001. We knew Jason maybe interested in attending the Academy so we visited to hear about the school, academics, accommodations, and the life of a cadet. We went to the school where we were shown a video about the academy including scholastic and living accommodations. After which we could ask questions about the Academy. About 30 people attended this presentation.

The Academy has a Visitor's Center which provided tours of the Academy. We signed up for one of the tours. The tour provided the history, culture, and everyday activities of the cadets. Imagine each cadet has to have 3 hours of physical activity per day. The rooms are small but there is a place for everything and everything must be in its place. Hard to imagine since young men can be rather messy. The grounds were very well kept. The chapel was beautiful with many stain glass windows.

We decided to try one of the many restraurant in Annapolic, Maryland before returning home. Rosie's was recommended by one of Dela's co-workers who live in the Annapolis area. The crab cakes were very meaty and good. The pasta salad with seafood were very well and the pasta was al dente. We had a very delicious meal.

We visited some of the many shops in Annapolis. Some of them had a nautical theme. We headed home to Arlington having had an enjoyable day.
